You can see that they&#8217;re high enough to be brushing against the clouds. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00355.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"303\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">It was sleeting when we arrived at Nagano, so this was the best picture of the city I could get. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00386.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00395.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00535.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"303\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">This is Miasa, a tiny town west of Nagano where we spent the night. The lodge itself is very nice, with its own outdoor hot springs bath and a traditional Japanese dinner in several courses. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00398.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">As we walked further west, we saw plenty of these graveyards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00467.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00411.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00413.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00415.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00417.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">My apologies for the poor quality of the pictures. By this point, the snow was blanketing down and my camera lens was foggy from an unfortunate accident. <\/span><\/p>\n<p ><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00478.JPG\" width=\"404\" height=\"539\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00432.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The snow was as deep as a person in some places, but that didn&#8217;t stop the trains from running. <\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00449.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00453.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">This is Uminokuchi station, located next to the lake&#8230; <\/span><\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"umi1.jpg\" width=\"393\" height=\"262\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">&#8230;where <em>Onegai Teacher <\/em>and <em>Onegai Twins<\/em> were set.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00461.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00460.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">Inside the station is a notebook in which visitors can leave messages, mostly <em>Onegai Teacher <\/em>related.
