As you can see, it&#8217;s pretty much deserted in the morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00091.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><span class=\"style16\">This is the Fuji building out on Tokyo bay. The whole area is filled with modern buildings like this one. The big metal ball is accessible to the public as a viewing platform. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00092.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This particular shot was taken on a weekday. I guess no one could be bothered driving all the way out here. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00093.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This giant needle stands ready to keep Tokyo safe from any giant balloons.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00094.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This is the <em>Miraikan<\/em>, literally &#8216;Future hall&#8217;. I&#8217;ll bet they added the big metal ball just to outdo the Fuji building. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00096.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">I forget what building this is. Some kind of shopping mall, perhaps? <\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00099.JPG\" width=\"404\" height=\"539\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Yet another fancy building whose name I&#8217;ve forgotten. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00097.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Yes, even in Tokyo, there are empty lots. The rail you can see in the background is a curve in the <em>Yurikamome <\/em>line. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00131.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Tokyo Big Sight is a place of great significance to otaku, as it&#8217;s where Comic Market (or <em>Comiket<\/em>) is held twice a year. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00102.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">A shot of what the <em>Yurikamome <\/em>trains look like from the outside.<\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00107.JPG\" width=\"404\" height=\"539\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The walkway down from the station towards Big Sight. <\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00106.JPG\" width=\"404\" height=\"539\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Only time constraints prevented me from getting a shot of myself being sawn in half by this giant modern art installation next to Big Sight. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p ><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00109.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The entrance to the main hall. I bought one of these to bring home, but I had to drink it at customs because of the stupid new law about keeping liquids off planes. <\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00123.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Even the ads on the vending machines here are otaku-targeted. This one is for a shop that prints doujinshi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00124.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"404\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This grim-looking room is a glass-walled smoker&#8217;s room. From a little further back, it kind of looks like a gas chamber &#8211; the sort a villain might use to try and kill James Bond.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"DSC00128.JPG\" width=\"539\" height=\"191\"><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">This is the roof.
